Think I have posted this before but anyway I gave my SA Pension away completely after looking into it,as their Pensions are so weak !
So we get part Pensions as of now (Both of us the same) as Irene is still full time working!

But once she gives it away (the Lord knows when LOL) then of course we will get full amount!
And as John said with the Super we have and will get from Irene's service as well, wont be Rich I know but will I hope be able to live a normal old age life!

    Here;s hoping LOL

I can only quote by 1991 standards in the uk. If still the same I would still be paying my mortgage off. I know where I am better off. Having family there I still worry about what their children have to face in a very uncertain future in what may turn out to be a very divided Europe. For which we have our very obliging past few governments to thank., and for which they can claim no kudos. Ivan see you are still wearing those Union Jack underpants. Cheers JS

So good to hear that those with super and pension are doing okay and would take this opportunity to say that I was never inferring that was not the case just that one has to keep their ears and eyes open for changes in the system. Personally I ditched my super as soon as I turned 65 and have not regretted it one bit but will not go into boring details as to how. Just that there are other ways of securing ones personal finances without parasites reaping annual fees or management charges LOL. Ivan it might depend on the size of the under daks that makes them visible in Oz LOL. So good to see humour is still on site. Heard the latest news that Trump is thinking of Cruz as running mate for VP. Go Donald go hope you take out the top job and stick it to all those career pollies and back room boys because the world needs someone like you to shake the hell out of all our systems.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

Les I agree that there are some better ways, when we left the uni they paid for us all to see a financial planning group all they were interested in was their commission.

But the gov makes it hard for those who choose to take the lot in one hit, can be taxed to buggery if not careful as they want you to take it as a graduated pension.

Spent a couple of hours today with our financial guy at the bank, fees are just about visible so low, and he was explaining the latest changes to super. When you look into it not as bad as the cover says and any on e smart enough will be able to continue doing well with it.

#15 Ivan in our day we used to call them the scanty panty men. As a kid can remember we had one who used to go around the council estate pinching womens underclothes off the washing lines. Today it would be considered his every right to do so as was probably short of clothes for himself, and today being politically correct not to be chastised for having leanings to the be one of the opposite sex. If had been caught by some irate husband in those days would have finished up sexless altogether then hung from the nearest lamppost by what remained of his genitals. The law today is not only an ass it is blind toothless and suffering from loss of memory. Viva La General. Do they still have pension books in the UK. Cheers JS
