Guess she has been to the Island.
It's a nice one hour and 35 minutes ferry ride from Vancouver to either Victoria or Nanaimo.
Buchart gardens in Victoria is worth the trip.
Victoria is the blossom capital of Canada.
We have the most moderate climate in the country.
Hence the large population of retires.

#20, because of the exchange rate you get good value for you pound, (at least here in Ontario), not so the other way round,
if we go back there it's expensive, some old friends from Glasgow used to love coming here, couldn't believe the bargains,
including the beer, a 24 pack?, no problem, so it was party time for us, no complaints here.

Come to Oz we have room for you all, bonzer places to visit, fair dinkum natives some complete with spears and other things, some of the best amber fluid anywhere in the world so what are you waiting for?

As to Europe, there are some wonderful; sights there to see in Rome and a few other places, but the locals can be a bit of a problem. But for wonderful architecture of previous eras then go to Sicily, a wonderful island.

We are considering a cruise to some part of Canada up the back passage I believe it is called. Den may know more about it.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

Hi John,We don't have a 'back passage' here in Canada.
    Maybe try the Greek Islands!
The Inside passage is very scenic.
Goes up between the mainland and Vancouver Island
If you do the cruise, sail out of Vancouver.
Seattle goes up the outside. Nothing to see there as open Pacific.
Picture taken from one of our camping/fishing spots on the Island.

Think the word is out to the Brits
The largest Jumbo jet, British Airway from London, landed in Vancouver yesterday.
Biggest plane ever to do so.
