What are The Odds?
Most mornings ,Weekdays. The A.B.C. Channel 2.Put on" The B .B.C. ( Recorded, perhaps some years earlier) "Eggheads". Runs 5-30, a.m -6.a.m.
Most often, "Watch it in Bed" Find it interesting,as ,the Contestant Teams,
Are ,from .All Walks of life,And All Parts of the U'K.
Gives me ,My " Old Dart" Fix, Hearing the varying Accents. For instance .Couple weeks ago, a Port Talbot ,Team, ( "My Home Pool", ),took them out . Part of my interest,is to try and recognise the differing Accents.
Only yesterday afternoon,in a Posting .(at another Thread. re Liverpool, Ships ,and mentioned Lime Street Station in particular, re. Happy Happenings there ,on Pay-Off Day.
I Switched on the Tele ,this Morn .The Quiz Master, introduces the Challengers. The Team' s Name. is "Off the Rails" "All employees at LIME ST.Station .Liverpool.
Considering all the Countless Options ,in Work Place and Town or City's available? ( Uncanny I thought ) The Odds ? of that. must be enormous.

Re: What are The Odds?
Probably the same as winning the Football Pools !! Only last week the Lotto 1st. division prize ( several million $ ) was won by two tickets sold to two separate persons in the same town, Tauranga NZ. The first time such a thing had happened since Lotto started in NZ. Regards Peter in NZ.

Re: What are The Odds?
Hi John, your #3. The mother of a friend of mine won 75000 pounds on Littlewoods Pools.( this was a lot of money in the fifties ) She lived in Fleetwood and her husband worked at the ICI Alkali division plant at Burn Naze, about 9 miles away. He rode a '' sit up and beg '' type push bike to get to and from work. He did suggest that they should buy a small second hand car for him to get to and from work -- she refused but did say she would buy a new bike for him when the existing one finally gave up the ghost !! She was rumoured to have put all the money into a Post Office savings account and never drew any of it out during her lifetime ! Regards Peter in NZ.
