Just looking at a video Liners of Liverpool the commentator takes you into a Liverpool pub the Cornmarket where he meets this ex ships bosun off the Riena Del Pacifico Tommy Miller.The walls in this pub are covered in carved wood paneling which are supposed to have come from the 1st class smoke room of the R.D.Pacifico.Tommy miller was pointing out the different carved figures and putting names to them,Cuzco Pisaro and Santander.I don't think Cusco was a person I think it was an Indian name.Anyway the pub site says the panels came from the captains cabin of the clipper ship Rio Del Mar so who is right here.ánybody on board that was on the Pacifico and remembers these panels or have seen the panels in the Cornmarket,

Tommy is an old mate of mine for 60 years now, I was only talking to him on the phone on Christmas Eve.
about 18 years ago Tommy and I were a double act of two drunks on the Wally and Billy show on Magic 1547 from Stanley Street for quite a while.

Two years ago we went from Lima, by Calleo, by air to Cuzco then a train up the mountains then a bus to the lost city of Machu Picchu.

BOOTLE.
Can remember my first time Bootle . 1950 .Our nearest ,and popular Pub , The Strand. Just across the Rd. from the M.V. Cragmoor's Berth. at Alexandra Dock .Was there again in August , the same year .
First time i heard the expression since. Recently recalled in a Posting , Think By . Jim Brady. Apologies ,iim if wrong.
During all the Hilarity round Our table ,in The Strand.
Hear, " He knows it's not to Stir His Tea with! Don't you Love?
This was in response ,to one or other of lady friend's, mild chastisement, of Her . "Shush ! The young Fella ! I Was innocently unaware anyway,So it must have 'Gone over my head"
That time too,was a very popular Dance Venue, . Burtons. Up Strand rd. to Either Stanley or Derby Rds? just round the Corner and down some Stairs. The fav. and enjoyable Dance (new to me.) being "Ballin the Jack" Goes like this! " First You put Right foot ,Way out in Space, You do the EAGLe Rock ,with Style and Grace. etc . Great fun ! Memorable.
Leading now to my 2nd.?. Re Bootle.
Some three yrs. later .Back from The W.Indies , Chapman Boat. Cargo of Bagged sugar. Huskison Dock ? I think .
We'd arrived and tied-up by about 8p.m. The comparatively young Cpt's . Wife ,had arrived .
Was Getting itchy Feet. Liverpool, no money ,Can't get ashore. Stuff this! So went Midships, .Knocked on His door.Yes? "Any chance of a Sub ,Capt.? Apologetically,he says "I'm sorry ,I don't have any ,till the Morning" Betty ! Do you have any Cash. ? She returned to the door with Her Handbag. He delved in it ,fished out Two ,Pound notes. Allelujah!
Dashed For'd .Grabbed my, Mate.Walked quickly up to either Derby or Stanley.? We get after some diversion ,to either, and found this Pub ,on a corner.
Entered there ,into a very Small Bar, All other Voices ,seemed to be in the adjoining Bar. Ordered two pints ,straight away .Repeated same ,shortly, Great friendly ,Motherly type, Barmaid . Must have downed a few. Could hear ," Last orders " Being Shouted ,in the Main Bar.Said to Phil." Get Two more ,in . Phil. Last orders" There we were , just the Three of us , chatting away . Her advice, "Be careful Boys , when Walking back.
"The Bar where Phil.was standing ,curved round,a little.
Pint in front of each of us, Phil is innocently leaning against the Small door ,behind Him Suddenly he's propelled forward a little, ,Followed by a Big Thrust. of the door opening. Enters this Angry , Bespectacled Runt. Notes the Pints. Raved at the lady, "Old enough to be His Mother" I give him a warning , Concerned ,that he may make trouble , for Her.
He returns to the inner Bar ,Shouting Time . The Lady said It's o.k. Don't worry, Lads or similar.
One of the emerging Customers, .said "It's O.k. .He's Standing in ,For the regular Manager. Tonight ,It's Gone to His Head!."
Anyway ,Anyone an Idea ,the name of the Pub ? As
we walked down to the Dock-road. ,it broughr us almost immediately opposite to our Dock Gate. If that;s Any help?

Are you sure Charlie? PSNC had a ship called Cuzco, but I don't recall the port! and definitely not in Lloyds Maritime Atlas which lists all ports, sure you're not thinking of Callao in Peru

Cuzco is up in the Andes, I was there on my way to Mach Picchu, only go by air.

Hi Evan #7 Burtons on Stanley Road me and my mates used to go to that area on a Saturday night to watch the performance of the Teddy Boy gangs and the police.I think the different dance venues had their own gangs of Teds and would visit each others venues for confrontation.You've got me beat on the Huskison Dock pub, if you came out of the Husky the two roads immediately outside the docks had pubs on the dock road without walking up to Derby Road or Stanley Road.Evan was it before 1957,thats when the big Tate & Lyle silo was built by th Husky.
