Re: Lets just see
We at times here in Oz get similar floods but nothing like this one. Devastation as far as the eye can see, will the gov do anything to assist these poor souls at this time of year? Somehow all I can hear is ' we will do what is needed'. But what does that mean?

Re: Lets just see
Hi Charlie.
Your right there when we have those terrible fires we get help from the Firemen of America, New Zealand, Canada and we send ours to help them, but we get nothing from all the countries we send aid to, when the bush fire brigades have to around with buckets to collect money to help buy some equipment, it should be bought by the Government out of foreign aid money.

Re: Lets just see
Des, with the number of foreigners here now all foreign aid could well stay in the country. As you say we send help to some countries but not others. Not sure what any of our guys could do in UK but at least the offer could be made.

Re: Lets just see
if any and all countries around the world was properly organised there would be no need for any aid to be sent to any country we seem to be more interested in giving money knowing its lining pockets not of the people it is supposed to go to everyone and his dog knows that? people here are in dire need of help winter here homes wrecked and tax payers too and what do they get so far the council tax is being suspended for a while??? is this great Britain we live in today if it costs millions to fix then fix it take it out of the funds we send to make a few rich and sort our own out first... jp
