Lets just see
the north of the uk is under water thousands of homes flooded no power winter cold and wet? now lets see we can send millions to other countries lets see if the brains will spend a few bob on our own people? jp

The same people were flooded out in 2009. The Environment Agency said at the time it could be 250 years before the water levels are as high.
Their insurance payments must be sky high if they can find a company willing to insure them. A bleak Christmas for many this year.

Lets just hope that all will be sorted soon and that Families can be relocated back to their Homes!
I hope that there is no loss of life ,I have not yet read all the News on it!

Two people have died so far. two elderly men.
It will take months for the homes to be cleaned and dry out and get rid of the smell of Sewerage.
The loss of belongings etc, . They will not be covered by Insurance in most cases.
Not a good time to be having it, Christmas will be a no no this year.

The River Wyre which flows through Fleetwood where they have Stopped dredging a couple of years ago when they closed the port has flooded up stream at St Michaels.
I said the other day that, stop dredging the floods will come.

Both UK, and Aus send hundreds of millions overseas every year but when tragedy happens in either country nothing ever comes back.About time both countries started spending that money back home on our own people in need of a hand out,and help when these disasters happen.
