Judging by the claims we read about in the media of the tens of thousands dying with famine and war in Africa and the Middle east, this one would think is one item towards the measurement of the CO2 readings going down. However what happens if they get to what we are going to be told are acceptable limits, and we continue to get bad weather which they insist on calling climate change caused by mankind in general. Maybe all these seamen peeing over the wall is causing the ocean levels to rise. The melting ice-berg has proved you cant fool all the people all the time. The only melting ice to have any effect on sea levels is glacier ice, and as we seem to have very little left, it wouldn't take a genius to give us a figure as to the rise when all glacier ice has gone. As I live only 400 metres from the Indian Ocean an early figure would be appreciated, so I can make a start on my Ark. Will get in touch with Cappy to see how he built his all those years ago. Cheers JS

John, just a thought for you as you watch the Indian ocean. When water freezes it expands, so in theory if it thaws it will take up less room!!!!. NZ scientists claim the ice shelf off the east coast of NZ is thicker and wider than ever before recorded.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

They were talking on BBC Radio today about global warming and saying that the islands in the Pacific were experiencing higher sea levels due to global warming and that some islands will have to be evacuated..
Many islands in the Pacific came out of the sea as Volcanoes many thousands of years ago. They have started to sink back down into the sea bed. many large volcanic islands have gone that way and are now just a few Motus above the sea. ; [small islands] So then it looks as tho` the water level is rising when the land is really sinking.

There are 361,900,000,000 square metres of surface on the worlds oceans.
so to increase water levels by one metre , 361,900,000,000 sq.metres, times one cubic metre. equals cubic metres of Water would have to be added. I am very tired, having been up all night and no sleep so cant work it out at the moment.
That would be one hell of a lot of ice.
There is as much water in the world today as there was Millions of years ago.
You cannot disappear water, or increase it. It can change its State but not its quantity.
eg. Steam , Vapour, ice, snow and so on

    Cheers
    Brian

Also Brian the heights of sea levels are called tides as we all know these landlubbers either have been told this, and don't wish to divulge to the general public. As Tides are caused by the gravitational pull of the sun and the moon, suggest they next put a man on the moon for him to see the permanent resident who lives there according to similar fairy stories we read about as kids, and see if he can get him to take some of the pressure off. There has always been islands forming and disappearing over the milleniums, according to the eggheads the earth was just water in its early formation. Which prior to was a ball of ice. All life came from the sea, where some of it should crawl back to. As pacific tides have always during my lifetime been not likely to follow the general trend of other parts of the world as always have higher and lower falls than most, they are probably being further heightened and lowered, not by some chain smoker smoking his 80 a day, but by outside influences uncontrollable by man or woman. As the pacific is the largest single ocean mass in the world it is quite believable that gravitational forces exerted on will have a larger effect than smaller water masses. It seems to me that any discussion/argument re so called weather or climate change that the people who perpetuated the theory of it all being due to greenhouse emissions are going to stick to their theorums come hell or high water (in the pacific no doubt) as would be too big a loss of face to be proved even that there were other influences also at work. One only has to go back to the original prompter of the initial story and his band of merry men, and how they have enlarged the problem to suit their explanations to see the course this has run. Who would believe an ex politician, quite a few it seems. JS

Is it just a coincident that the same day the first refugees arrived in Canada.I received notification that the premiums I pay for my medical coverage have been increased?
Maybe its just me being paranoid.Or is this just the first sign of things to come.

#45...Everyone of those immigrants will have to receive medical attention of one sort or another Dennis. I don't know when you emigrated and had to undergo checks, but I know I entered Canada in 1967 to work for Saguenay shipping of Montreal and had to go through 3 doctors, 2 of which were specialists. All the tests for VD were included in this, this was just to get the title of landed immigrant, fortuanetley the shipowner paid. Emigrating to Australia 24 years later the tests were the same plus the one for AIDS. I had to pay these myself and cost a lot of money as couldn't claim off the NHS. Think of yourself as the shipowner paying for your crew to enter your country I know this wont do much for your bank balance but think of the feeling of benevolence you will get, and even class yourself among the hierarchy of do gooders, the next 25,000 you will have a good idea what to expect, and the following tens of thousands who knows, as by this time it will be too late. And the Lord forbid you should make statements like the Presidential candidate of the USA to bar entry to such, think the French population remaining in the country may bring back the guillotine especially for your good self. Once again it leaves doubt in my mind as to the sanity of so called educated people and this goes way back through the history of the world, maybe climate change is a devious plan to take our minds off the Game Plan. Cheers John S

Thyat loveable larikin scientist Bellamy tells it this way. Thsoe south sea islands are not experiencing rising tides. For years they have drawn water from the underground water table, now it is at a low level the land begins to sink. Result, a sinking island. Now I see HRH Charles has said why did we not see this coming years ago. Well Charlie the way I see it things are no different now to then. But somehow I do not see the so called resolution coming out of Paris making much difference. One of our leading bankers today said the world cannot provide anywhere near enough renewable energy to make coal obsolete.

    Came to Canada in 1967.
Went through same treatment as you.
First Christmas I was out of work.
Unable to claim any benefit's, as had not been here long enough.
Was desperate for a while, but struggled through.
All refugees arriving now,are issued with a welfare card.
    Times have changed.
