    Default Illegal immigrants

I sympathize with your comments about the U.K. being inundated with unwanted immigrants. We also have a problem here in the States. There are roughly eleven and a half million illegal immigrants living in the U.S.. The majority are Hispanics, and by far the largest percentage of that group are Mexicans.

We have the Republican party that wishes to seal off the 1,900 mile international border, build fences, armed guards, etc.. The Democrats by and large wish to grant some sort of permanent visa that would lead eventually to full citizenship for all.

A very large part of the problem is you have children and adults of the illegals that were born in the States. They are automatically U.S. citizens. That would have to be amended or twenty years from now the U.S. will be faced with the same problem once again.

Another large part of the problem is the U.S. needs the Hispanic laborers. The Hispanics do the work that U.S. citizens will not do, the dirty, sweaty, minimum wage jobs.

I live in what is called a gated community. It is a secure walled compound, with gates for ingress and egress, very pretty with lakes, ponds, wooded area, recreational facilities plus an eighteen hole golf course, and tennis courts, and lots of grass...which has to be cut weekly in the hot and somewhat humid summers.

There are 372 homes of various sizes on a half or quarter acre lots. The section I live in has the garden cut by a contracted landscaping service for a monthly fee. Of the balance of the homes, three quarters also engage one of many similar services. The employees of each these lawn service companies are Hispanic and illegal.

I do not need a crystal ball to tell the political persuasion of my fellow residents, it's obvious...Ninety percent Republican, ten percent Democrat, and perhaps a few similar to my wife and me, Independents.

The amusing part is the conversations re. illegals range from build walls and an illegal approaches get the boiling oil bubbling, to flood the border with our returning vets, round all the illegals up and drive them back across the Rio Grand and let the Mexican government sort them out.

The answer to the last part sounds like something out of a bad war movie, "Shoot them all and let God sort em out."

There are no sensible comments made when I point out that the largest fruit crop in South Carolina are peaches, and peaches cannot be picked by machine. A peach is delicate they almost bruise if you look at them hard. Neither, whites or blacks or second generation Hispanic-Americans in any dependable numbers will work in agriculture and be paid by the basket. The orchards are picked clean and it's into the car and off to the next farm or region that has a crop of something coming in. Oh, then I remind them that their— and my— grass needs to be cut weekly too.

It's not only agricultural employment, it's catering, it's changing the tires at tire companies, cleaning offices, every crappy job that whites and blacks, and second generation Hispanics will not do, even though the choice, without an education is that, or a lifetime of living on government handouts and poverty.

Here's the rub. A fair amount of illegals from Mexico do not want to stay in the U.S.. They are here as single status, just to earn money, and send their money back to their family and return annually to their homeland for a couple of weeks, then return to the U.S. until they have achieved their goal, which could be for example paying off their house. In the meantime, out of each paycheck federal and state income tax is withheld, as is social security withholding, which they never or could not collect when they retire, neither can they participate in senior citizen medical coverage, that money goes into the fund to help pay my check each month from Uncle Sam.

Many live in a shadowy sub culture. They have a steady job, a family, car and house. Many crossed the border as a family unit with young children, who were born in their "old country." These children have now grown into youths or even adulthood. There culture is American, perhaps their knowledge of their parents native language range from fluent to non-existent. They have attended American school, have Anglo friends, speak and dream in English, but are illegals. How can these be shipped back to a country they technically belong to, yet have no memory of?

The solution to me is relatively simple, with half of me being Democrat and concerned with peoples welfare, and half of me being Republican and wanting to contain the problem, particularly into the future.

The U.S. Government should issue special visas for temporary workers, the first one issued by an overseas office as part of the commercial arm of the U.S. consulate service. Applicants are vetted to make sure they do not have criminal records etc. fingerprinted and have sufficient funds to get them started and are healthy etc.. Each year thereafter these special visas can be renewed at the border crossing/port of entry by the U.S. customs officers, all files to be available on computer. A clean slate and the visa is renewed for one year and so on annually.

The law is changed, citizenship is not automatic for children of illegals, all future illegals shipped back, no documentation and you are on the bus or plane to wherever you came from, no exceptions.

Current illegals who have lived in the States say seven years and have paid their taxes, no criminal record, in fact they have been model citizens in everyway but legally, agree to pay a fine and upon evidence of an understanding of English and civics (this includes all members of the family not just the male member) may become citizens. The rest on the bus and out. They use the border as a revolving door and are picked up again, a to be determined prison sentence that must be served in full, and doubled for repeat offenders.

Okay, that's enough thinking for today, Rodney

P.s. I have an interesting post which will be following later, on Indian immigrants.

Moderator, please correct the heading of this post, I have just noticed an embarrassing typo, the title should be Illegal emigrants.
I could not correct the title myself.

    Thanks, Rodney

#1... Rodney, we have a TV program out here called Border Protection, probably originally from the States, and shows how the Borders with Mexico are patrolled and protected this occurrence is happening daily and more or less continuously. They are shown being caught on US soil and turfed out back to the Mexican side. When Australia did this initially there was a public outcry by the Greens and other countries including the US. Australia now carries on regardless of the minority of opinion on this subject, but it is obvious other countries with all these bleeding hearts, do not themselves practice what they preach. Have just watched George Brandis the Attorney General speaking at one of the Asiatic Forums out here about the first duty of Government is border protection which I heartily agree with, also spoke about the 100,000 bits of propaganda daily aimed at the ****** youth on twitter, and about counteracting this, which will mean the loss of free speech no doubt, a thing which is on the cards in Europe as soon the EU gets total control. The only reason I voted for the present government was on their stance on Border Protection, if Labour or any other party had advocated the same thoughts on the subject they had as much chance of my voting for them as well. Labour were criminal in their approach to the subject and will be a long time before I ever, if live long enough will ever vote for again. As regards terrorism a hard line has to be taken, there is absolutely no extenuating circumstances whatsoever which should even be considered, for those who question the validity of refusing entry to returning ISIS fighters I would say you are entitled to your thoughts but lets go by the majority verdict and keep the baskets out for good and anymore of a same mind. I didn't know the Indians were immigrants in the States, I thought they were there first. I don't think Geronimo would like that, he would be on the warpath again.

That is getting away from the point. A country chooses who they want to let in. Those under the heading of a certain religion and having adverse views to the laws of the country are belligerents and should not be allowed to step over the portals. During the war those Germans residing in the UK with only German Passports were rounded up and interned. The same as the Japanese in the USA. We have all seen the weepy films about the injustice of this conjured up by some Hollywood director. The US did the right thing and was for the good of the country. Today we are fighting various wars all on the excuse of obsolete and outdated religions as the reason, we are at war with certain factions of society, and yet they still expect free movement over others borders, and we have dip heads who want to let them do so. The sooner the west gets real if ever, the better for all mankind. They had what was called by the malcontents the white Australian Policy, this was to take in people of the same standards and expectations of life for the good of the country not on Black and white arguments as some would have you believe. Many seamen jumped ship out here and if kept their nose clean were allowed to stay as would fit into the society. It is a total different world now and is no good looking back as regards immigration, the tens of thousands migrating are like the swallows in the UK unwanted ,unnecessary and causing deprivation to the natives of that land. Just maybe it may be to the good if all ISIS followers were confined to one country with razor wire round it, I wonder if they would go for that as an alternative. JS

As an aside,I don't imagine these people are illegal obviously have permission to work in the country but be assured they know every benefit and any grants that are available. My grandson who served his apprenticeship and is now a qualified joiner attended some place in Liverpool regarding funding to set up on his own. There were ten people in the waiting room waiting tobe seen regarding funding of the ten only two were English my grandson and a lad from Devon.Make no mistake these foreigners don't let the grass grow under their feet and they will be running this country the way in which things are going.Whilst the British people have almost given up on religion a certain religion has doubled in the past 10 years.

In the International Express this week it states that the hand outs that Cameron was going to cut back on, to aliens, he has been told by Brussels he cannot do and has to do what he is told apparently. Can you imagine the British people of the last generation standing for that. If Britain backs down over having its own laws and making its own decisions, it is finished as a country. To think that people still cannot see Europes objectives as regards Britain, leaves one wondering how any intelligent person cannot and still fails to see. Have more respect and liking for China. JS

Britain is now just a small province of europe.
I wonder if Churchill would have allowed this to happen.
he must be spinning in his grave.
We are now controlled and ruled by the very people we fought and defeated, germany and vichy france.
The BIG Problem now is,, the young generation who have no idea what Great Britain was like before the Quislings handed over our Sovereignty to some faceless, nameless nonentity in Brussels, will vote to stay in europe.
One idiot on TV even said , `I hope we get the euro`, `Why?`, `because we wont have to change our money when we go to Benidorm.`
That is the mentality of some voters.
I despair of this once great country, now we are flooded by European immigrants and moo, slim, immigrants,
I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK. My relatives died for this country, was it all in Vain??????
