    Default London Diamond Heist.

When you think of the Hatton Garden heist of safety deposit boxes recently, Its the stuff movies are made of, And I think because none of the millions of £££ Worth of jewels and gold bars E.T.C. wasn't insured and obviously a rich mans haven, I have to admit a part of me didn't want them responsible caught, I suppose its human nature that feeling, But when you look at the facts ............. Alarm bells went off as they where still drilling yet no Met police response, They used a diamond cutter to get into the vault, It stinks of an inside job, And I wonder how many people will come forward and lay claim to the goodies the police found after making arrests today apart from Cappy . Terry.

Must say Terry did have a sneaking admiration for them as no one was hurt [so I believe]
Surprised no heads have rolled in Police Dept still to come I expect along with a few upstanding members of the community in Kent. Desperate times for shady folk!

    Hi Terry
I admire something like that, I bet not too many people will be claiming the loot with the tax department looking on. There must have been inside info, plus suspicion of the police not answering the alarm, unless it was a private alarm system and they were in on it.
    Cheers Des

Very similar to a robbery back in the 60's when a Thermic lance was used to cut into concrete in the shop next door. They got away with it and little was done as some of the boxes contained papers of a number of very prominent persons. Film was made about it a few years later.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

At least one of the guys being questioned is 75 years of age, agile old sod obviously. the drilling machine used is something again, would have took some heavy handling. As Marion says , you have to have a certain admiration for them. look at the attention the great train robbery got KT

Sorry I'm going against the theme here, I've no admiration what so ever for them, lucky nobody got hurt but I doubt they would have had any hesitation in inflicting some injury or worse had anyone got in the way of their meticulous planning. Don't think they were Robin Hoods either.

Blimey Ivan, how much did you have stashed away in there ???. Admiration was said tongue in cheek, obviously you cannot condone it, but a lot of money will be made on the back of it in years to come, books written, films made etc, such is the way of the world kt

Unfortunately Keith, absolutely nothing! never had chance to stash anything away in the jobs I had, or the business I ran. Yep I know a lot is said with tongue in cheek, pity they couldn't have used their brains for something positive though.

Ivan keeps his money under the mattress. Re the post about the Great Train Robbers. They caused me a lot of angst. being suspected of being one in Port of Spain Trinidad. Ronnie Biggs would of got a kick up the ass if he had been handy, the bloke I was with was a big fellow and quite capable of doing it. JS
