Christmas is coming.
How's this for jumping the gun?
Sam's Club, in Tampa, Florida, a division of Wallmart, has opened large Christmas display and began selling Christmas paraphernalia on August 22. It was announced on our T.V. news that there was "a large run on 12ft artificial Xmas Trees".
Has anyone else seen this nonsense this early?
Awaiting with dread the surfeit of Christmas carols played endlessly in stores and on every radio station...Bah!...Humbug!
No cheers, just plain old Rodney this time.

Re: Christmas is coming.
Sorry John, but I should have added excluding all year Christmas speciality stores. We have a few of them here in South Carolina, but I drive right by them a fast as it's legally allowed.
It's not personal mate, but still no cheers from me on THIS post. Rodney

It really is not rocket science, just a move from sales orientation to market orientation, for thousands of years, someone had a product added a bit on to the cost, to further buy more stock, adapt and live, the Yanks started market orientation and prices became what the market will bear.
Stop on mass certain purchases and prices on those products would fall fast.

Re: Christmas is coming.
#6 I rather like the Yulefest in July as it is appropriate at this altitude and good for tourism and thus the local business people. Fortunately it comes and goes rather quickly but now tropical Darwin is on the bandwagon where de rigeur is no doubt sweat rag, six pack and thongs.
Christmas used to be a great time for kids that has been stuffed up by corporate greed to the point that when it arrives we're glad to see the end of it but then the Easter sales pitch is activated.

Re: Christmas is coming.
Hi All.
Big store in Sydney stunned everyone by having a part of the store ready for Xmas this month, don't know if it's a finger up at the do gooder's who don't want to upset the ethnics, or just a quick garb for bucks.
Cheers Des
