Re: Offspring
Hi Louis.
I think NZ must have the most children of the sea in the world, from the 50s to the 70s it was the love islands.
But I would like to know who was responsible for those 800 kids in the septic tank in the nunnery in Ireland, "unfrock yourself I say"
Cheers Des

Two soldiers just been promoted to corporals out to celebrate-
"Heh man, let's go to that knock'n shop round the back o' the greasy Spoon?"
"No way man, Charlie went there and got himself gonga reah"
"No problem - We's Corporals - dat's a disease o' the privates."

Re: Offspring
Ref. #12... Des, as the wife has just booked up a tour for NZ from the 13 October for 3 weeks, if there is anyone you would like me to look up and give your regards address and state of solvency to, lets know. Areas visiting will be Auckland ( Ma Cleasons is still going, I was told this a few years ago by a lady passenger at Auckland Airport) Bay of Islands, Roturua, Wellington, Canterbury, Queenstown, Dunedin, Christchurch, apart from a few other weird places which may have been inaccessible years ago, but you never know, seamen have seen sights yet to be seen. I have a mate who lives near Auckland so am hoping to get a late pass out to Visit Gleasons which believe has been cleaned up quite a bit, so will have to try and reverse the process. Anyhow no problem to pass on any family messages you want in any of these areas. You havent changed your name like Brian have you? Beleive he calls himself Roberto Brown now, and claims he is a castaway from the Spanish Civil war. Cheers John S PS Cappy used to wear a frock. JS

Social history, for most of us it was more a case of social dieases spread by those wonderful ladies around the globe who wanted to give us something to remember them by.
No doubt the UK gov is sweating on the numbers who may appear and claim social benifits a la 'that dirty rotten seaman did it'!

Re: Offspring
Just trying to keep you awake Cappy, I cant sleep so dont see why others should. Is very hard to get suspenders these days unless in America where we would call them braces. Dont make stockings like they used to, is all this panty hose stuff, tears very easily. Did you make any of these ever lasting cockerels jackets recently shown by Marian courtesy of the internet, go back to the 1800s, in your factory. Or where all your customers of a different faith. Seriously did you ever hear again from Clive in NZ re that grounding off South Shields years ago. Was supposed to be in Sea Breezes, but as dont read it, wouldnt know. Cheers John S
