What do we believe
I had the new " Smart " meters fitted yesterday , it should help me to monitor and cut down on my Gas and Electric bills , hopefully . The installation was free of charge , and is about costing money .
Scottish and Southern Electricity were on toime and did a neat and good job , but talking to the meter engineer he changed a conventional , non smart meter , for a lady whose meter had failed , for a like for like conventional meter . The Smart meters contain a SiM card for all suppliers and communicate with base regularly , a simple mobile , all operators sim . The lady had read on a web site from Canada that the Smart meters are fitted with a special chip which monitors you and your household , and after he had installed the Conventional Meter , she could hear noises , in her head . Following a long discussion where he explained it was like for like she found the noises were lessening .
I just wondered how many of us read something on the internet and actually believe it , without checking ,

Re: What do we believe
Good title that Rob, with Brian and his poles has started my train of thought on poles of all description. However I do beleive that unlike poles attract, and like poles reject. Knows that as did it in the science class at school. We had the meter man round a few months ago changing the water meter, when asked why he was changing told us the water board thought our reading was too low and meter broken. I just explained we were poms and didnt get washed as much as the true Aussies. meter still raeds the same if not lower, as have giving up getting washed somedays as trying to save money. Cheers John S
