Its never too late to get fit
An interesting article on BBC Breakfast this morning about a 95 year Canadian lady who took up sports when she was 77 years old and who does the high jump, throws the discus and javelin and runs marathons...dammm these Canadians are exercise mad.
Apparently there is a whole host of older people taking part in the Masters Sporting events.
Now none of the sports really take my fancy so I was thinking of joining my local athletic club to see if they had any sports that are particularly suited to ex seafarers, such as
How far can you throw an empty tinny?( aka Javelin)
How quickly can you jump out of a window (AKA the High Jump)
How fast can you make your escape from Dannys bar (AKA the 1000km sprint)
How long can you go on a bender for without falling over (AKA cross country marathon)
There must be many more but at this moment in time I am tired just thinking of all that exercise and need to go and lie down for a nap.
