Pub Darts.
Each morning we have a Scouse quiz on our local radio station,it's surprising how people come up with the answers,The question the last two days was "This was banned in Liverpool for 10 years although it was going on elswhere what was it"? The answer believe it or not was pub darts,it was banned in pubs from 1939 to 1949 because the war was on and it was said that it encouraged heavy drinking,I think it also applied to Glasgow.Anyway apparantly the King was seen playing darts somewhere and it was said if it's ok for him then it's ok for us.
Regards.

Re: Pub Darts.
My old darts were called UXBs, due to the fat barrel, and weight of them, needed a bit of weight to get them out of the board.

Re: Pub Darts.
my dad was bombed out of the school hall where he was stationed.(AFS) and he made a set of darts out of the brass weights that were on the curtain cords. we used to play at our local working mens club. he was banned because they said he was wrecking the board.

Re: Pub Darts.
Rarely see a dart board in a pub down here. My local certainly hasn't got one. Mind you I do tend to stick to the same pub. The beer is always good and I know must of the customers.
