Re: Climate change?????
#101... Putting in words that ordinary people would understand.. Although the Earth moves round the sun it would appear that the sun moved round the earth, and this path extended to the celestial sphere is called the Ecliptic. The earth moving round the sun does so at various speeds and in an elliptical orbit, when furthest from the sun is said to be in Aphelion and when closest is said to be in Perihelion The earth moving around the sun is also inclined 23.5 degrees from the perpendicular to the plane of its orbit. I don't think I want to read google to find the same thing in different words, much prefer it the way I was taught by proper navigators, could go on and on but would be boring people, even bores me at times as is just the basics of principles of navigation used over the centuries. The fine bits on google as said don't appeal to me and usually mean something totally different to what I am looking for, however is probably very handy for those seeking records etc. all such knowledge of celestial navigation nowadays takes a back seat to our modern GPS systems and wont be long before no one refers to it. Best Regards John Sabourn

In my rant I referred to 'dirty coal'China is not the only country using it UK does in some coal fired power stations as do several European countries. However Asia-developing nations has-have why I'm buggered if I know a dispensation, yep bloody mad but there it is . All to do with cheap resource + keep some in developed countries as well as non in work. Fix with one hand smash with the other.

#112 Rotates on its axis west to east once in every 24 hours Rob. If you were standing on the equator you would be moving at 600 knots. Probably hence the saying stop the world I want to get off. Cheers John Sabourn

Should of gone into higher or lower latitudes, would then have slowed down in speed, and extended the feeling of europhia, and maybe cut back on the sunburn lotion. They must have let you out now and again. Cheers John Sabourn

Louis in years to come who knows they maybe selling bottled air like cigarettes and taxed as such. When cannot afford to buy anymore that's it. Same as some peoples in the world today have the same problem with food and water. That is if the little green man from Mars doesn't come and put us all out of our misery first. Cheers John Sabourn
