Hand me downs
Viewing images on TV today it was announced that the new royal prince was wearing the same shawl that Queen Victoria wore at the same age. That is about 200 years ago.
To my sick mind that is taking hand me downs to the extreme. Surely with all the money they have thye could afford a new one!!!!

Hi John.
I guess we all have to tighten our belts in this economy.
I had to wear hand me downs during the war when there was clothes rationing
.
.
I felt a right tit walkng to school in my big sisters knickers and frocks.

One thing I really did hate was when my cousin was killed in 1942 , same age as me, I had to wear his clothes. nothing wasted. I cringed every time I had to put them on.
I have never ever worn a second hand garment since.
When I was 16 my grandad died and mother gave me his pyjamas. Wear them I was ordered. I took them on my first trip and sold them to a Gypo in Port Said to wear as a suit.
