That is right Ivan, The ship in the photo, is far too big to go under the bridges,
I sailed up and down there on the infamous `BOWBELLE` to Nine Elms wharf which was close to Battersea Power Station.
We had to sail as soon as she started to bounce as the tide came in, outward bound, and get under the Bridges before the tide rose too much as the loss of air draft meant you would collide with the bridges. always a tight squeeze. Once clear of Tower Bridge then we would haul up the masts and funnel.
