Coping with change

Things are always changing, but not always for the better. One of the notable areas of change is titles of things like organizations, job titles etc.
I saw on the news this morning a tail end of an article which showed a brand new building, with a sign outside which said - Community Safety Hub, which was underlined with blue and white hatching.
I found out in the next bulletin what it was, and it is a new police headquarters for Cleveland.
FFS what is wrong with the word Police I wonder?
If I see a crime being committed and ring 999, do I ask for the community safety operatives?

It is ironic that in the same bulletin, it was announced that Cleveland Police have just achieved the lowest level of performance possible following inspection by the appropriate inspection body - inadequate or similar wording.

Anyway, that's enough of my grumbling, it is bin collection day so I need to put my bin out for collection by the refuse disposal officers.

Seriously though, the bin lads we have here are pretty good.

Tony, I have never met a pretty bin man in my life, Apart from one J Pruden will confirm this we had one named Penny we used to call him Bin Bag the sailor, He would have your missis hounded for any old shoes or hand bags, Walked into him one night in all his finery make up and ear rings included, He smiled at me in a suggestive way and winked, If I had drank that boozer dry I couldn't have indulged he was a bloody ringer for Agnus Brown

Bit odd as here in Oz we have safety houses, somewhere the kids can go in the event of problems with stalkers etc.
Our police stations are known as police Stations, and fire stations as fire stations.
But then this is Oz and we is a bit different down here in the colonies.

John, I am sure there is someone somewhere making a very nice living concocting these inane titles and then the various dipsh-t committees who approve them are too frightened to disagree in case they are labelled as biased or whatever. The snowflake society is flourishing.

Thank God down here our Garbo's are still Garbo's, our postie is still on his bike, [With a little motor of course] and our police are still called Coppers, Firemen called Firie's, not too much Bullsh%# in the country. The Council have tried changing a few things but people ignore them.
