PS.
There must be a shark restaurant in West Aus, six people have been taken by sharks in three nearby beaches the last few months.
thats the problem Des, they can swim in when small enough, but if the feeding is good on the inside then they just might get too big to get bck out?

Re: Where were you on your 21st Birthday?
My 21st was on the Kenilworth Castle off Mauritius. Been saving our two cans a day and had a bit of a booze up with my two brothers Charlie and Howard who were in the same crew. Charlie and I was in the same watch, 8 til midnight. We both got logged and finished up with a DR for conduct. Read my book 'Pull up the ladder Jack' 'Seamen behaving badly'

Re: Where were you on your 21st Birthday?
Spent my 21st in Detroit, Michigan on the Manchester City. 5th August 1961. 3rd Mate. Tied up waiting on the St Clare river waiting for our berth in Chicago to clear. Went ashore and bought myself a Mitsushita transistor radio. Wowee. A transistor radio. Came back aboard and ordered up a case of beer and with the other guys toasted my coming of age.

I got one the same make in Rotterdam 67, gave it to my mother who was delighted with it and used it daily. I got it back when she died, still works fine.

Re: Where were you on your 21st Birthday?
It was'nt my 21st but I remember Captain Morgans swimming pool in Curacao, who cared about sharks when it was too damn hot to swim; what sticks in my mind was all the sea snakes swimming around and when I mentioned it all swimming records were broken. Great days.
