Shell tanker KELLITIA
Hi, does anyone remember the old Kellitia a Shell tanker.I was deck crew as SOS in 1954. We loaded oil in the gulf headed for Geelong Australia. We got into the Indian ocean but were leaking oil like a sieve all over the ocean. We headed for Calcutta as it was in those days but refused entry due to our leaks so had to head to Singapore where we discharged and went into dry dock for six glorious weeks before reloading our cargo and continuing to Geelong. I belive she was sold to the Chinese at the end of our trip as they were looking for a delivery crew whilst we were paying off. That would have been in 1955.Any other ex crew members out there.
