Singapore / Nha Be run
Perhaps I drank too much in those days or perhaps it is just my memory.
I cannot recall which tanker I was on the day we were attacked by V.C. about 20 Km South of Nha Be when we were traveling upriver with JP4. It was either the STS Hatasia or the SS Vitrina I checked my discharge Book looks more like the SS Vitrina in 67 have tried contacting Shell Tankers to no avail.
We were attacked with RPG's from the port side passing over the fore-deck, there were probably 6 to 8 in all in two groups, they left smoke trails. The pilot spent his time on his knees with the captain shouting at him to get up. Perhaps someone will be able to remind me.

Which Shell Tanker?.....
Hi Jerry-I think most of us are guilty of those two problems !
Just to jog your memory-I noticed you had made an entry on the Helderline website a few years ago when you listed those two ships-you thought then it was probably the VITRINA.
8/66 SS Hatasia R/O
6/67 SS Vitrina R/O
Your entry is HERE

Thanks for that Bob,
Both my parents names come from the 7th Century. both in Lancashire. One Thousand Four Hundred Years ago. Wow.
So I think I can call myself an Englishman and a Lancastrian.
.
A few years ago I went to bed one night as a Lancastrian and woke up as a Greater Mancunian, The Government changed the borders. I didnt like that. I was never consulted.
Cheers
Brian
