Northern Star 1974
I sailed on her as a catering boy taking the ten pound poms to aussie, then cruising from auss round the pacific -new zealand then the return voyage to uk.
my cousin got me onboard Shaun Drury he was a barman
great guy sadly passed on last year after living ikn melbourne a long time,
I worked in the fwd restuarant collecting plates was definitely a rights of passage voyage for me.
loved the ship & crew worked in the crew bar for a while waiting on for tips made a fortune.
i think it was shauns idea to keep me out of mischief didnt work ! we used to meet the passenger girls on their decks always getting chased by the master at arms happy days!!

Hi Guys
I think I know you both, I was catering boy also same time as chris, also in the forward restaurant, I then moved on to be the pursers boy, Printing and delivering the daily news papers around the ship, it as great because i got to mingle both sides.
I lost all the picturres i had of you and I - stolen from car when I moved about 6 years ago, lots from the northern star and marice I went onto Manchester liners after the northern star in about 1976-80 sailing to the med and to montreal then upto the great lakes, also done a few trips on bibby line from liverpool and the canberra back to aus.
Just thought I say hi and if you got any pictures of them times would like to see them.
regards
John
