And I thought they were meant to fight the enemy
A fight broke out between officers of two of the navy's submarine crews, leaving one with a broken jaw.

I was also amazed at the HMS AMBUSH, had world beating equipment for detecting other vessels and then it crashes into a Big Tanker.
Some on other ships had a cocaine party, others drunk and locked up in the US.
and they are supposed to defend us,???

While I am not condoning the above behaviour. it needs putting in perspective as this is a very small amount of people in a 40000? person Royal Navy. Ships crew of both the Royal and Merchant Navies have been drinking and fighting ashore since goodness knows when, that includes quite a few on this site. The drugs thing is a relatively new habit that unfortunately seems to be freely available in most parts of society and I do not condone its use anywhere whether on board or ashore.

Cadet Officers???? ah well if this is how they behave thankfully the tax payer has not had to foot the bill for them very long. She is a specialist in Sonar etc!, well she certainly should have seen that coming. Nice to see the Daily Mail has passed on the Information to the Russians exactly what her last deployment was then.

Re: And I thought they were meant to fight the enemy
Somewhere back in around 1982 we had just left Cherbourg and there was a fight in the bar it was actually quite uncommon as I came up the stairs on the Earl Granville the chief steward was having a what do I do next for it we need to separate them . They were definitely drunk and the first Appearances was it was two gay men having what I would describe as a handbag fight they seem to have been in France on business for the weekend and had a falling out on the way back we separated them and one got very stroppy , with the help of one of the quarter Masters we managed to take the stroppy one out and he started really creating he was a naval officer how dare we restrain him . At that time we very often carried play enclosed civilian police undercover investigating some of the stranger stuff that was going from Cherbourg across the Portsmouth so he was consulted soon as the guy said naval officer he called it in and said the Provost would be on the quay in Portsmouth to arrest the guy . The Navy turned up on arrival and chief regulator wanted statements . When he realised what had been going on the pair of them were taking down to HMS Nelson and the Old Chief regulator assured everybody that they would retire and leave the navy before midnight because her majesty didn't have people like that in her navy when they were outed or not I never knew but they certainly didn't have anybody who brought her majesty's Navy into disgrace almost 40 years ago
