The MOD has placed an order with Bae for three type 26 destroyers with a commitment to order a further five.

It's got to Govan or Scotstoun or both, as they are the only yards capable of building warships.

Apart from other duties they are needed for, our new carriers will need some serious escorts as they would be number one
targets in conflict, not contradicting you Vic but I thought the type 26 was a Frigate and the latest destroyers are type 45, my apologies if I'm wrong. JF

I only know what I read Vic, I think all the numbers mean is that as the ships develop their status it is identified by numbers
just like cars are Mk 1 Mk 2 etc, again could be wrong but the write up on the type 26 is impressive , it is a multipurpose battle
