Stupid things.
We were steaming south 10 or 12 passengers three of the passengers were young women, was not
long before they were spoken for namely Chief Officer,Second Officer and Assistant Steward were the lucky ones.
I always went to the bridge every morning at 0650 to have a yarn with the Mate walking along the prom deck
I would see the AS coming down from his girl friends cabin out board one slip and he would have been in the oggin.
Reminds me during the war this destroyer docked at Gibraltar the CO was talking to the Head Wren he said
my crew has been at sea for 3 weeks so tell your Wrens to be careful.
Head Wren said do not worry My girls have got it up here, pointing to her head,
The CO replied, I don t care where they have got it my lads will find it.
