    Default Looking for Simon's father

First of all, hello to everybody!
I am Ignatius Lafebre and live in Ocean Shores NSW Australia.

I am the stepfather of Simon Alderton (adopted name ) and am doing some research for him to try and find his birth father.
He knows his father's name was Robert Pope, born approx. 1943 and lived in Plymouth, Devon UK. Robert, a Maritime Engineer was in Sydney during Christmas 1969 (do not know the name of the ship)and met his mother during a party. Simon was born in 1970.
Simon, now 53 is very keen to try to know a bit more about his father if his father agrees to that. We know this is a sensitive issue and will treat it as such.
If anybody did know Robert or if Robert sees this message, please let us know.
    Regards
    Ignatius Lafebre

For this type of search the Salvation Army is a good starting point, they have vast resources and are very discreet

I know it may sound daft but i found my long lost Son after some 45 Years on Facebook!
So who knows that may be one way to try!
    Cheers

Do you know of his Birth Place??
Was he in the Merchant Navy ?
British or Australian Merchant Navy ?/

There is also the Census you can search both for the UK and Australia, but will have to have a bit more detail i think!
    Cheers

I looked at the free BMD Lists for the Years 1942 to 1944 . There arec a few of that name but the actual place of Birth i do not know!?

    Hi Vernon
    Thanks for your reply.
Robert Pope was Born in Barnstaple or Plymouth. He was an engineer in the British Merchant navy.
Have looked at Facebook etc.. Did DNA with Myheritage, Ancestry etc. and Census etc.

If there are any Records held they would be in the following Series. I cannot find any Seaman Pouches but that does not mean there is no CRS10.
