MV British Resource December 1963.
Hello...Karen Bernard asking a question. Since my first request regarding my late brother Eric's time in The Merchant Navy (BP Tankers 1962 until 1965 I have had tremendous help; suggestions on where to research and I am so glad I asked! When I first looked on this site in June I saw behind the "interface" a post from: David JW Bowley NA 1956 BP 2M left 1968, Oz 1971 Masters FG, in which he wrote about MV Resource being in the vicinity of the Lakonia (Cruise ship) that went on fire at sea in the Atlantic on 23rd December. He commented in that post on how theirs was a recovery task only; as being a tanker she had to stand off...an episode that troubled my brother Eric Bernard for many years following that experience. I have searched and cannot find that first post by David Bowley (2017?) so can anyone help? I would add that Graham Wallace has been of great assistance, with data and photographs of the tankers, in my search for information about Eric's time in the Merchant Navy...I am appreciating the interest and help in my research. Kind regards Karen B.
