Master Merchant Seaman
Hi I'm really new to this so don't really know what I'm doing so please be patient with a newby.
I'm looking for a William Cardno born 1831 in Aberdeen. He appears to have been a Master in the Merchant Service, however I cannot find any details of this, ie. Certificates. I have looked on both Find My Past and Ancestry but can find nothing. Could someone please point me in the right direction. Thank you.

Re: Master Merchant Seaman
Possibly a difference between birth and birth registered dates ?
or the old fib to join up earlier ?

Re: Master Merchant Seaman
Hi Sharon,
No need to actually, leave.
Keep the account open and look in now and again,
even with your daughters help.
Not all posts get replied to straight away and
you never know what will turn up or when.
It truly is worth staying on even if not being an
active member.
Just pop in take a look and update only when needed.
Wishing you all the best either way.
Regards,
Keith.

Re: Master Merchant Seaman
Thanks Keith
Actually any Member that chooses to leave (not post) unless he /she specifically askes to be removed from the database, will remain an active Member as such,so Sharon will still be in the position to post whenever she chooses Their account stays active until removed by Admin!
Cheers
