Visitors ?? or Members?

Dont know if this is the correct place! Anyway!

I have noticed that most of the Forums are marked "Private" when not logged in,and am just asking why!?

This means that Visitors cannot get into most of the Forums!
I thought that at least Visitors would be able to read Posts even if they cannot reply?
Or am i incorrect!
Does this only happen to the Members when not logged in?

other sites like you to register just to make the numbers up even if you ask one thing years ago you are still on the count{but thats another story} john pruden{full name} and only name registered with any site.
