MacDonald's Potato , Chicken and Bacon Bake
Just another one of my own concoctions is
Potato Bake with Bacon and Chicken.
You will need for two people only. Add more if making for more
Fresh Roasted Roasted Chicken Diced about a handful
Slightly Fried Bacon only done for about 2 Minutes on high heat then cut into small pieces
2 Teaspoons of Butter or Marg
Ground White Pepper quater Teaspoon. Salt to taste if required, i never use salt on anything.
Fresh Button Mushrooms , enough for your liking, cut into slices,
1 Small container of good thick cream.
Onions 1 Med Size Cut and diced into small blocks and pre Fried so that it is just nice and soft and slightly brown.
Potatoes Cooked but not fully, must still be fairly hard (.3 Large peeled and cut into solid Rings) after cooking
Grated or Shredded Cheese to your liking, i use mature Cheddar.
Using an Oven Proof Dish line the base with the Butter place a layer of the Potato not all as we need two layers of all ingredients as shown
Then add some of the Onions, then Mushrooms, Bacon, Chicken
Repeat this in another Layer leaving a last Topping layer of Potatoes.
Now add the Cream pour over slowly so as the Cream goes all over the Dish ,this will sok in on Baking so dont try and push it to the bottom.
Cover with Tin Foil and Bake in Oven at 230 degrees for 30 Minutes.
Once Baked for above time ,remove from Oven take off tin foil , add the Shredded Cheese covering well.
Replace in Oven without the Foil, and Bake for another 10 Minutes, or untill you see the Cheese melt all over and te Potatoes are going nice and Brown.
Thats it Lads Mac Donald's Chicken, Bacon and Cheese Potato Bake ! Enjoy! I am sure you will, its a great dish for those cold Winter days believe me.
Try it with a Dram of Drambuie on the side to warm the Cockles of your Heart!
PS This dish will keep well in the Fridge on cold for the next day if there is overs!
Can just reheat in Microwave for a short while.

Re: MacDonald's Potato , Chicken and Bacon Bake
Sounds nice enough but, Fresh Roasted Roasted Chicken Diced about a handful seems
odd for two, better have the fresh roast chicken for two after the time it takes to roast,
then the next day, MacDonald's Potato , Chicken and Bacon Bake ?
Just wondering.
Keith.

Re: MacDonald's Potato , Chicken and Bacon Bake
We always but our Roast Chooks at Coles here Keith, so use just enough for us two, the remainder goes in the Fridge for another dish the next day, and all the other bits and pieces when taken apart g to Benson the Pug! He loves it! LOL
In honest fact though Keith i buy 4 Chooks a Week, one which we eat and the other three are shredded for our Pug. I mix that in with his Dry Food and a bit o Kibble. Keep 5 Containers in the Freezer a Week to take out and give him his Food daily.
He is a spoilt little (Rather large ) Pug

Explains much, I was just thinking of why roast your own then
just use a bit in a different dish.
Got you know.

Vernon, your Pug is no different to our cat Mr. Murphy.
Like most pets fully spoiled and rules the house.
