    Thumbs up Round house pub

Hi mick i remember the roundhouse used to drink in there in the early -mid 1970s when working by the blue star ships the steps was the other pub we merchant navy heroes drank and performed in before we sailed deep sea in the good old days regards walt kozak

I was one of those seafarers that never had a home, so the Flying Tabnab was my place of abode in between my ships, so My Backyard in those years was the Roundhouse the Kent Arms and the Steppes, When I was wealthy and just payed off Anchor House was a call as well, But the Old Roundhouse was a favourite, when I could get Workby jobs and eventually sign on for another voyage to the wonderous Temptations of New Zealand and Australia. All the Latest Goss about who signed on what and what the great jobs were on the Board at the Pool were always under discussion at the Roundhouse. What a fantastic life, you could be broke and still get a job to anywhere and get an advance note as well. Glenn

Think you may be getting two different 'Roundhouses' mixed up, one is a former building for turning locomotives and later a music venue in Chalk Farm (N. London) - the other is a pub in Woolwich, which I'm not familiar with.

Went to the Chalk Farm one a few years ago to see a brilliant 'modern' trapeze act, so far as I know it is still going strong as a venue.
