    Smile M.V.Port Auckland

    Would like to hear from any member of the company that may remember me .Sailed on Port Auckland both as 2nd. electrical engineer and later as Chief . First ship in 1954 was the Port Victor and many more up to 1964.

    Hi angus, by coincidence was on both in the fifties, catering dept. Port Victor. 2 trips.to Oz and NZ. 21st Mar 1950 to 26 th Mar 1951. and Home Trade Vic Docks to Cardiff, August 1956. Great Ships to be on.

    G'day Fred.
    I joined the Port Victor on 31st March 1951 as galley boy, direct from the Vindicatrix. Missed you by that much ! I then did a home trade run and 3 o/s trips on it. Then 1 trip on the port Alma, and 1 trip on the Port Auckland
    Tom Porter was the chief cook on the Victor for the home trade, and Don Burgess was chief cook for the 3 trips to Aussie and NZ.
