Denny the doryman
DENNY THE DORYMAN
I'll sing you a song, a tale that is true,
What happened to Denny could happen to you.
It was out on the Grand Banks, the sun shining bright,
We were fishing for cod from morning till night.
Now Denny was fishing in his dory alone,
Thinking of family and soon sailing home.
When all of a sudden the sky turned steel grey,
Waves turned to mountains nearing mid-day.
Oh where is poor Denny, where can he be,
With a full catch of cod in the cold raging sea.
We found Denny's dory, the storm moved along,
But the dory was empty and Denny was gone.
So all you Grand Bankers,
Take warning from me.
You could end up like Denny,
Lost out at sea.

Re: Denny the doryman
A person who uses a dory, especially a person who engages in fishing, lobstering, etc ?
Doryman: They have flat Bottoms which enable them to sail in shallow coastal Waters.
