Irish rover
IRISH ROVER
Ten, twenty, thirty below,
All in the realm of ice and snow.
Killer whales and penguins roam,
In the frozen seas we now call home.
We've sailed in fair, we've sailed in storm,
Neath sunny skies, neath clouds forlorn.
In storm tossed dreams the skua screams,
The fog dispersed the sunshine streams.
Our course is set for a land of light,
We make our way through miles of ice.
We hope for mail from folks back home,
While the windswept coast if ours to roam.
Our holds are filled with food and gear,
Discovery Hut is bearing near.
Our ship by name the IRISH ROVER,
Sustaining those who winter over.
