Sitting here with naught to do
Sitting here with naught to do ! LOL But its all true!
With UCL i was besot
I loved it but many not
Those Hulls of Lavender
I watched in great awe
It was something quite new
That i never before saw
The purr of those Engines
Just made me feel great
And all of those comrades
Well all of them mates
A new life i started with little ado
It was something i always wanted to do
The pity was time nearly quite not enough
But the time i had really made me quite rough
If only i had known how far i could go
I surely would have stayed that you must know
But life is so funny its ups and its downs
One day a Seaman the next day a Clown.
Yes UCL i will never forget
And my life's ways i will never to regret!

Re: Sitting here with naught to do
Vern, Nothing wrong with a bit of nostalgia, Reflecting on the hand you where dealt from time to time. I have been meaning to ask you I cant remember myself I was going through my blue period at the time...............Pissed most days. Q, I recently established an order with the help of John Arton that any deck rating could give to a captain and he would carry it out, If you remember it was order your xmas dinner. I posted at the time I had 2 Christmases at sea I actually had 3 when I done a xmas cruise on one of the Lavender fleet the Windsor Castle can you remind me did the officers serve the crew xmas lunch aboard them. Vernon, there are many who were on UCl that would agree with that, it sure did change a lot of men, not sure what into, but change them it did.

Vernon while you are on this thread, just something I've meaning to ask you for some time.
Why have you got R and seven numbers while every body else has got R and six numbers. F.
