The VNC.
I awoke at three o`clock this morning with these words in my head so I got up and wrote them down.
The VNC
I am just a lonely Sailor
in a lonesome dockside Bar.
My ship has sailed without me
and I just dont know how far.
The Bar Girl said she loved me
but has taken all my dough
and I am just a lonely Sailor
who`s got no place to go.

Spoken from the heart Captain, methinks we have both been there !!
R 627168 On all the Seas of all the World
There passes to and fro
Where the Ghostly Iceberg Travels
Or the spicy trade winds blow
A gaudy piece of bunting,a royal ruddy rag
The blossom of the Ocean Lanes
Great Britains Merchant Flag

Joining in your thoughts:
Reading yours could not get the following out of my head, pos many could add a verse to make an epic? Not attempting to steal your thoughts but inspired.
K.
He was an MN sailor
he had travelled wide and far
another ship lost to the enemy
is why you find him at this bar
soon to join another one
though mindful of the foe
took some solace with the bar girl
but back to sea would go.
