Hello.P.S.N.C.Friends.We all said,thanks to the Cheif Steward and Chef,for the meal they gave us.The London steward said i will take you all to my parents home,he was from East Ham,facing a grey hound track,anyway his perents were really good to us my sure we where.

All right,and put us up for the night,we all thank them.We all went down to the dock locks gate early hours in the morning,and there was the Pizarro waiting in there to go through,we shouted for some of the crew to throw some Jacob ladders over so we could get on the ship,we heard some body shout ,who are the men,crew was the reply.Let me know if you want to know more fromKen.

Good times on the old Pizarro.
I also was once turned away by the Sally-Ann. Been drinking so spent the night in the park under newspapers. NOT good.

a great story, we should have more like this, re salvation army refusing to help. they used to allways come into pubs where seaman drank, knowing very rarely would we would not give a donation, if they so hated drinking, pubs should not have been there operating areas. cant wait for next installment of your story.

My brother and his mates missed a Blue star boat in Glasgow,they approached the Sally Army for a bed for the night and were chased.They would never give to Sally Army collections in the pub after that.

Away we all got on board the ship every body asking questions,the Captain was the main one,we told what had happend,we all got logged three days pay and fined for missing boat drill,could not complain,as we were all glad to get back on the ship and keep are jobs,more later from

Hello friends,anyway when we got back to Liverpool,my two younger brothers Bobby aged 15 from Bootle Grammar,and frank aged 8,they said my mam got a letter from British Rail,saying i had traveled to London with know ticket,and fined me,they said my mam went to tell them,my son on a ship going there.Tey have got it wrong.when i got home explained what had happend.si i paid it out of pay off,not much change left.

Went the pool later,shipping Fed. got suspended,we all did two days or aweek.It was my Forth trip away a sea .Three trips in the Tabor,Moss Hutchison,One in the Camillo,Bowring Tankers,the Pizarro was my best trip 9 out 10

Sorry about my trips away at sea,it was my fith,when my brother Bobby left the Bootle Grammar school at 17 he went away to sea first trip Bell Boy on the Coronia the Cunard World cruise,came home with five suits and hundreds of yankee dollars through tips,stayed with cunard three years,got a D.R. FIGHTING with the Scabs who took there jobs in 1960.Packed in after that the ship was the Sylvinia.He passed away 18 months ago.My other brother ALEX was in the Merchant Navy 41 years Engine room and Deck, Deep Sea.Take Care from Ken.
