Re: Memories
I always like to greet the staff at our Club by their names, was starting to forget them then got the idea to use the Alphabet, get the first twp or three letters in the name and it seems to pop into your head. New baremaid started last week her name? Seam, sounds to me like Siam so no trouble there LoL.

I admit I did feel a bit foolish - it's an age thing. A pal suggested I attach some string to my car, then all I have to do is roll up the string as I meander back. I think he was joking !!
Its not an age thing Gino, your mind is pre occupied with other issues. It happned to me when I was in early 20s, attending college I would be starting at 08.30 and finishing 20.30, coming out several times had totally forgotton where I left my car and Shields college was a big site with several potential places I could have left it.

Re: Memories
I guess everyone must have been to Danny's Bar, why did we always go there? I can remember lots of others to choose from. Maybe it's due to going ashore mob handed, and someone hadn't been there before, so it was traditional to show em Danny's?
One I remember was the Beaver Bar, pretty sure that was nearby?

Re: Memories
Johnny,
Was the beaver bar a lesbian bar just around the corner from Danny's bar?
We used to drink in ermars bar just across the road from shed 20 on the river berths, it was a haunt of the crew off the beaver boats of C.P. walls and ceiling covered in the names of any and all who had frequented it.

Thats how I went there; first tripper, first run ashore after run to Venezuela and back. Went ashore with senior watchkeeper and his assistant.
I only realised that they were watching for my reaction to the 6ft 4in French maid, with a 9am shadow and a voice like Paul Robeson, after I shot back in my chair and nearly snapped my neck when asked "what do want" in deep bass voice.
