Welcome
China has a new aircraft carrier the Fuijan. There is a photo of her on Yahoo home page but I do not seem to be able to unload it. I wonder how long it took to get her from first steel cutting to sea trials? Reading various articles it would appear to be a Drone carrier? The construction started six years ago, when in 2018 the first “superblock” hull module was sighted at Jiangnan. These modules were assembled into larger hull segments throughout the next two years, before being moved to drydock for final assembly. The aircraft carrier was launched on June 17, 2022. No doubt they will cut that production time down as they are tooled up for it now. Added by Doc Aircraft Carrier latest of China.JPG

No Vernon, a whopper comes from the Golden Arches LOL. But there is concern in our feral gov as China are conducting exercises close to our legal sea limit. Gov thinks this is the prelude to an attack on Taiwan.

Concerning Taiwan I think China will wait and see who is the next US President, if it is Trump they will invade, Biden they might just wait until he pops his clogs. For now it is all sabre rattling. I really don't think China wants a war with anyone, they will play the bully boy for now. IMHO
Possibly true that comment, but in the end China will do what they want, not the rest of the world, and will in time take it over.
Well if enough countries slap massive import duties on Chinese goods same as China does to other nations exports they may have a re think about their ambitions. One of these two guys has got it right ,Joesph Schumpeter or Karl Marx, Capitalism will destroy itself (Greed)
James that was told to me in the fifties and have always believed that to be true.
That's the way the mop flops. My thanks to Brian for this site.
Yes, there could be a ban on goods from China, but where would many then find what they need. China has created a situation where we all at times needs something from there. Looking at a chart today which shows how much land China owns in USA and here in Oz, more than most have ever considered.
John it is all about greed with western economies , exporting jobs , because they can get things made cheaper abroad. Not that all the savings are are passed on to the consumers here. The production of too many useful things results in too many useless people!!! wish I had thought that one up
