Re: Correct or not
Even the Germans are getting restless over the EU and are demanding that they leave.
The EU only ever wanted one thing from the EU and that was our contribution.
We were weaker in the EU, we could not act in our own interests, everything had to funnelled through the EU.
The EU destroyed many of our industries.

Re: Correct or not
I think that if it had remained as the Common Market we would still be in it, but some of the ruling "wannabe bigger fatcats" hadn't though that the likes of Cameron would drop such a clanger. I can't see any other EU nations giving their people the same opportunity, not unless they get desperate prior to an election.

Hitler must have been laughing in his grave, he would have seen the E.U. As just a continuation of his 1000 year Reich. JS.

Hi John.
It my be starting over again, on the news here it said that German troops had moved into Poland, to help them resist Russia! Didn't know Russia had any designs on Poland.

Similar but not a repetition I hope of Hitler taken over the Ukraine in 1942 , today no one talks about that as it stirs up too much mud. JS

Re: Correct or not
Hi John.
Not about Europe, but saw a brilliant interview on TV yesterday. This American woman reporter was interviewing the Pm of Iran, she asked him if the war between Israel and Hamas would spread? He said America is supplying arms to Israel, bombing Iraq, Syria, and now the US and Britain are bombing Hutties, how much further do you want the war to go? no reply from her.

Re: Correct or not
Bit on the news today, Germany is saying it will call the troops to be ready.
Anticipating WW3 could start by 2025, started by Russia!!!
Sweden is at last to be allowed into NATO, the North Atlantic Tossers Association, a big club with no club when it comes to reality.
Finland needs to if it wants to keep Russia out.
The concept of the Common Market was a good one, until a couple of countries decided they were in charge and bugger the rest.

Happy daze John in Oz.

The strong support for it still exists with the over 55 brigade, but the younger ones are still in favor of rejoining.
Mainly one suspects as it would give them easier access to EU countries, not for the benefit of UK.
But the question has been raised, is the UK still a force in global politics and economies?
The surface aspect appears to be yes, but how do the people at the coal face really feel about it all?
As with any survey the result can come from the manner and style of the questions.
had Brexit been given a chance
I think that Brexit was never given a chance, there are far too many pro-Europe lefties determined to destroy our sovereignty and push us back under the heel of unelected bureaucrats. We are, sadly, no longer the force in the world we once were. 120 years ago Great Britain WAS the wealthiest and most powerful nation on the face of the earth. Look at us now; the dumping ground for every malcontent from every corner of the world. I fear for my grand children's future, assuming, of course, that they will be allowed a future. We have the least generous state pension among the OECD countries and the highest energy prices in the WORLD. I don't think any of us senior citizens expected to see our country reduced to little better than 3rd world status. I despair, I really do.

The UK has the second largest number of Billionaires in Europe , Germany has the most at 173, UK 114.
So who is responsible for our so called fall from grace 74 years Conservatives, 33 years Labour 5 years Liberals, 12 years Coalition and 14 years National.
These are the Governments in power for the mentioned terms. 74 years under the Tories. The Nations destruction started Under Thatcher , Blair and the current crock of merde. Fingers crossed the next Government can find the plug for the lifeboat before we completely sink.

Re: Correct or not
Good points raised. From my perspective here in NZ I keep up with the news from The UK and Europe. What I see now is the dis-unity between various members of the EU e.g, Hungary, Slovakia. Mostly related to immigration, gay rights and of course Ukraine. With the coming of the expected Messiah from Florida otherwise known as the ginger-nut I think the UK is better placed to weather the next 4-5 years than the European countries. In my humble opinion.
