Twice as bad
In the news today three items that made me look up.
According to news, three shot dead in Sweden.
Three more in the Netherlands.
Then in Croydon South London a teenage girl stabbed in the neck and dies.
There have been according to correspondent some 14 teenagers stabbed to death in London this year.
Some 90 stabbings in total across London this year, many fatal.
Most are drug related according to Police, who are calling for some form of way to make carrying knives illegal.
Good luck with that one.
But what a sad state of affairs when it has become so common now some do not even make the news.
There have always been crims in London but do not recall so many stabbings, must be the new style.

Happy daze John in Oz.

Re: Twice as bad
It's already a criminal offence to carry a knife here, but they're trying to make it an offence for the police to stop and search anyone for these weapons.
You must remember, it's a culture that came from other countries when people migrated to the UK. Gov.uk and other great leaders in the UK, like Mayors and such, have always encouraged us to embrace other cultures and religions.
If our ancestors hadn't taken these poor souls as slaves and distributed them hither and dither, these people would be living freely in their own countries, among their own people and cultures, living life the way they want to.
Us white European people have a lot to answer for, even in Australia and New Zealand. If it wasn't for us, the indigenous Aussies and Kiwi's would be all speaking Chinese now, and we've taken that chance away.

Well if their own people hadn't sold them as slaves then they could well have continued to have lived in Nivarna where ever that was, I feel Africa or any other Utopia would welcome them back with open arms should they wish to return to their roots; doesn't seem to be a mass exodus in that direction.
Just an observation!

Re: Twice as bad
Perhaps if Sadiq Khan focused on knife crime instead of Ulez or any other of his narcissistic harebrained schemes that would be a start. He's not fit for purpose neither is ANY parent who produces but lacks fundamental parenting skills or moral compass IMHO. Jails are full, threats are empty, time to remove knife-wielding scum into an enforced reality? Answers on a postcard please....

Trouble is Marian, it's those very knife wielding scum and their families that he depends on for votes, so he's not going to upset them if he can help it.

Scottish authorities have approved a multimillion pound drug consumption room. It's the first government-backed place in the U.K. where users can take illegal drugs such as cocaine and heroin under supervision by medical staff.
Are they going to provide Iron Bru as well.

Re: Twice as bad
We have had those injecting rooms in Sydney for years doesn't do anything to stop drugs on the street, but it makes the politicians feel cosy.
AS for Knives, when ever we went ashore for a drink at dinner time we always left our knives on board, it now seems compulsory for anyone over twelve to carry one in their school bag.

Corporal punishment followed by military service. Give teachers the right to chastise.
It wasn't that long ago we were world leaders and had the largest empire there ever was. What happened? Politicians who are only interested in self aggrandisement and greed. Ban second jobs for politicians. Their only income is their politician salary unless they have their own company before becoming a politician. And then they take nothing out of it until they resign or are voted out. No massive pensions or payoffs either.

Re: Twice as bad
During our youth or most of us that is local government was not salaried and people did councillors jobs unpaid , expenses only. As soon as the mob in Westminster interfered in changing county boundaries and altering a system that worked along came the paid councillors in full time overpaid jobs. No longer do we have people in the political world there for the privilege , only there for the money , nearly said only there for the beer then. JS
PS There are two sides to the argument about sticking them in the Armed forces . The armed forces themselves will say why should we be stuck with the deadbeats of society we are a professional army navy and Air Force of volunteers. And would prefer to keep it that way. JS
