As there has been a few anomalies in this part of the world recently as regards the constellations , here are a few facts for general knowledge.
Stars .. nearest star except for the sun is Proxima Centauri which is 4.225 light years away.
Largest star is Betalguese which is 310 light years away.
Largest Comstellations of the 88 , Hydra the sea serpent is the largest
Smallest is the Southern Cross .
The Solar System
Largest planet is Jupiter.
Smallest planet and coldest is Pluto
Hottest planet is Venus estimated surface temperature of 864 degrees Fahrenheit
Brightest planet viewed from earth is Venus.

Is that the sidewalk to Paradise John ? Or the sidewalk where you stand your bin every week. Whoever thought 70 years ago that would be the highlight of someone’s life and a means of counting the weeks if couldn’t afford a calendar ? Cheers JS

Just caught the tail end of the news this morning and showed 4 of our main planets all on the same azimuth but at different altitudes . Sorry I missed the talk about the same as probably will not show again. Whereas as other useless information they repeat for 4 or 5 days. Anyone get the commentary on. In the old days a navigator would of been cursing as only one of them would have been any use for navigational purposes. JS

Hi John.
The only star I know is the Southern Cross; as I see it most nights. One of the nicest things about living out in Wop Wop Land is the clear sky's, at least when it is not raining or there are no bush fires, the millions of stars one can see gives me hope that I will live on each one in turn, maybe in a different form.

All those stars you see Des are just the ones you can see. Our brightest star is the Sun which is 240 times bigger than the earth and one of the smaller of the twinkly stars you want to visit , it would just be a twinkle in someones eye to someone living on a heavenly body close enough to see. The mention of Heavenly Bodies will no doubt bring John in Ozs mind out of his revelry from perusing his navel , and remind him of his past life of debauchery, its amazing when he keeps so fit these days. I get no sympathy when I complain of aches and pains from the wife. She just says your just steeped in alcohol which is keeping you alive . Cheers JS.
