Re: Present Waffle
Good morning Lewis.
So, long live the Republic !
Let's have an elected President ; say for 4 years and see how that goes. Buckingham Palace and everywhere else could be re-furbished according to the latest fashion. Said President could go for re-election. another 4 years. Now it's going well. President feels that he/SHE ! has his / her feet under the table . Time to dispense with these bothersome elections; better to be President for ever. Think Mugabe and Putin and Castro and guy in Haiti etc etc etc Look how well that's all gone !!
Republic? Definitely NOT. Long live the Queen

#24.. Maybe an alternative to Amin would be some ex football star, or even maybe raffle the prize of the throne , depends on ones own intelligence of the repercussions of doing away with a sovereign for hundreds of years and has proven it is the best system in the world as of this time and date. Much has been given away already from an Empire to discussions on our Monarchy.

Yes Lewis it is and we do hope to get there in 2020.
As to Oz becoming a republic, If the figures are correct it will not happen.
You see we have a theory here, 'if it 'aint broke don't fix it'.

Happy daze John in Oz.

#38.. Any chance of that John was if the uk had stayed in Europe . Now that they are out the odds are all in favour of NOT becoming a republic for a long long time if ever. JS

So all the dregs from former Soviet states and Eastern Europe, Lebanon etc! that are heading for Australia are going to bend the knee to the English/British Crown are they,
John when you do get back to the Emerald Isle don't be shy about saying hello. I know the pace of life is a bit slower here than Oz but it is already 2021 here lol.

Brenda as you say long live the Queen , just a shame Anne could not follow her mother , but concerning an elected President well there is a thing at least they are elected and can be removed at the next election. Concerning the running of the country that should be left to the elected government and not some jumped up figure like Donald Trump. A president should be a non political individual who is basically an Ambassador for the nation . Yes I can hear all you Royalists !!!! but I am sure a President would not require Buckingham Palace, Sandringham , Kensington Palace, Balmoral, Holyrood, Windsor, Hillsborough etc!
Prince Andrew should be sent back to the USA to answer a few questions(I suspect once the Queen crosses the bar , Charles may well have Andy on a plane to the USA. Then we have Prince Michael of Kent and his dodgy dealings in gold with the Russians,. Ah well if you are all happy with the Royals sponging and free loading

Re: Present Waffle
Same old story Lewis, the cost of the Queen, it is estimated that the Royal Family costs the UK approximately £35m per annum (google it), Income generated £1.8b not a bad return on investment (google it).
I am not a great fan of Andrew, but you seem have it n for him as you constantly want him sent to the USA for questioning.
Just remember a lot of your countrymen have a lot more to answer for than Andrew, but they are exempt thanks to Blair.
