Re: Lost
Lewis, call it Capitalism or what ever you like, but the fact is it is what makes the world go around.
In Cambodia the factories are owned by the Chinese the clothing turned out with 'Made In China' on them Why.
Because wages are lower in Cambodia and the Chinese exploit this.

Re: Lost
YOU emphasised capitalism , as a distasteful system , but have earnings from invested capital , so I regarded Ivan's comment as a bi t of " kettles calling pots black " . with any political system there is no ideal . they are all flawed , good reason to stay off political commentry

Re: Lost
By renting my property at the going rate is a far cry from exploiting my fellow man and is part of my planned retirement fund. Bricks & Mortar. Again what has my living in France got to do with the post!!!

Re: Lost
Had a few drinks with Bonnie Tyler, many moons ago in Swansea.
She was not really lost in France, apparently in love with it.
Bonnie, 55, divides her time between her Mumbles Bay (Wales) home and her house on the seafront in Portugal's Algarve. Her success with Lost in France led her to record her first album in 1977. Titled The World Starts Tonight, it met with only modest success, but Bonnie claims it did well enough that she could tour throughout Europe.

Re: Lost
Well Lewis, varying away from my original thread, which we often do with no malice aforethought, you complain about capitalism or give that impression.
Yes you rent out a house to provide for your retirement, nothing wrong in that millions do that here in Oz.
But as a staunch, an impression you give, Labor supporter I would have though such capitalistic concepts would go against the grain.
