Luxor
Very good company H E Moss (Cunard) was on the Luxor March 65, trip was to Bonny West Africa and some Med ports.

The one thing that sticks in my mind regarding that trip was, for the first time, that a “linen count” was conducted prior to arrival. When I asked why, it was explained to me that locals would come aboard and exchange services for any cotton clothing or bedsheets. No need for further explanation. I remember laughing at the activity going on along the working alleyway. Picture it, cabin to cabin, pulling a pillowcase behind that was getting fuller by the cabin.

Joinde her up the Gulf possibly Dubai,full crew change ,1967 or 68 I think ,mainly scousers and Mancunians . I joined as fireman but paid off donkey greaser in H Kong about 8 months later, one of the most memorable trips ever !!! full month in Taikoo dry dock ,great bunch of guys .
