It’s all those cockles , mussels, winkles , and crabs dressed preferably, who wants to eat a naked crab.? Making sure you buy the right variety of course. JS
Not the first day of winter John the sun is on its way south tomorrow , what about the autumnal and vernal equinoxes ? Anyhow enjoy your hols . Cheers JS.

First time went through the Fjords was in 1952 on the trawler 'St Benedict' (GY592) on the way home from Bear Island, a passage and sights not easily forgotten, as a navigator you would love it, sometimes it seems as if you were heading for a dead-end and steaming a bit further a whole new vista opened up. That's how I remember it but it was 73 years ago

#12 we sometimes went through the fiords in winter to cut out the North Cape for weather going to Murmansk. Other times it was to put people ashore who would otherwise be arrested in Russia, like Ploes, Latvians and Estonians and pick them back up on the way back to uk , don’t know where they stayed and would not have been told I imagine if asked. Hi John
On the ABC weather last night they said that Cooma was the coldest place in Aus for the last two nights, well make it the third, even our hot water pipes froze, then I worked it out the cold water pipes had frozen and as the hot water tank couldn't get any cold it wouldn't give us hot, got caught going to the toilet let the hot water tap on for washing the dishes, when I cam back hot water gushing away down the drain LoL.

    Frozen pipes!!!
Sounds a bit like UK in winter years ago.
Get some insulation around them, or get the wife to get up early to warm them up.

We have had a few cold ones, down to as low as 4 with very heavy frost.

Bring back summer, cannot wait for the spring equinox!!!! September 21
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Heavy frost, snow, and frozen pipes in Aussie! sounds like global warming to me.
