Cape Town Castle (UCL LINER)
Just a snip of the old Cape Town Castle of the UCL Line.
Thought it may be of interest to some of the older UCL Line Lads.
Good old Ship she was.
Cheers

Re: Cape Town Castle (UCL LINER)
A story I heard was that there was B&C ships in th Las Pamas Harbour and the lowered their lifeboats to go and assist, L. P. authorities wouldn't let them leave the harbour.
Also on th stricken vessel were given jobs for life.

Have seen this one in Person, a great Model it is too.
Look alike to the Stirling Castle as well. Here is another interesting LINK from A Band Staff Register. Thank You

Yes Vernon, kit is indeed the Stirling.
But looking at the newspaper on the last voyage of the Cape Town Castle the date at the top looks a bit sus!!!
It shows September 20 1907!!!!!

Re: Cape Town Castle (UCL LINER)
Yes Vernon, thought so but on my screen the 6 looks more like a zero,
Wondered how they could print so far ahead.
Which one went in about 1962/3 when the new one that became a Safmarine ship came about.?.
At that time,
Windsor, Pretoria, Edinburgh, Pendennis, Stirling, Cape Town, and two others??
Was the Athlone still going then?
