Re: Ruby
Yes, know much of that area well.
When slightly younger than now my great aunt often took me to those places.
But times changed, I matured and found the benefit of venturing into such places.
Though must say my body did not always agree with what I did there.

My first Ropner 2/E Ron Fidler was a bouncer in there so I was told but I have only praise for the example he showed me (especially in the Zillertal). I met him again a few years later while waiting to attend Chief's electrics as he came out of 2nds. He had been told no more dispensations so he applied himself to learning theory (I hope he passed).

Re: Ruby
I sailed with a mate in a well known NE company whose wife was a barmaid there. He was told he would never get promotion whilst his wife worked there . How’s that for false morality. JS

Re: Ruby
Des, doubt we would recall any where in Uk now, been out so long.
We go back regularly and no where is anything like it was before.
I spent much of my younger years up to the age of about 13 in the north, places JS will know well.
Bolde, East Bolden, Bolden Colliery, Monkwearmouth, Sunderland, Shields, South Sheilds's, Newcastle and a few others.
Often wonder what they are like now!!!

John, try Google Earth, just type in the street location and you can virtually walk down it and see how it is more recently.
