Des, I find it very disturbing that essential service workers such as Police, Ambos, Firies and medical staff have to fight so hard for a decent wage.
They should be top of the list when it comes to that.
Some of our members of the CFMMEU are being paid up to five time that of our nurses per hour!!!!
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Can honestly say that this is the best place to live nowdays, with all the Perks and the Pension, i sometimes wonder why there are so many that still complain (Pensioners that is) about what they get!
We are not Rich by a long shot, but we still live quite a good life, dont scrimp for things and have enough to but the small luxuries now and again.
Have a few pennies in Shares, and some Crypto investments, plus our Race Horse but not a fortune.
Dont go out a lot at all, and am quite Happy to be at home together.
Simple but Enjoyable life and thats all we want!

    Cheers , just be Happy!

Got to say that I fully agree with you Vern. Talking to my mate in WA and found out that the pension mob got him to contact the UK pension for payments. What transpired I now found out is? They did not inform him that his wife was also entitled to the UK pension even due to the fact she is Australian. I know this because my wife got the UK pension or I think it was 40% of what I was entitled to. Say this is case others on site are in the same position and getting the UK pension but not their wives.
That's the way the mop flops.

My thanks to Brian for this site.

    Hi Les.
Many people will b breathing a sigh of relief today, after that plonker Liberal leader Dutton said he would legislate to stop the tax rebate for all Australians that Albanese put through in the last budget, looks like people where listening as he was drop kicked out of his own seat yesterday. Shades of the Canadian election.

Spot on Des and looks like the greens have had their wings clipped as they should seeing as the sided with the libs in the senate. Be interesting to see who takes on the poisoned chalice of opposition leader lol. Be a lot of lib followers eating humble pie on site PMSL and rightly so.

When anybody mentions to me the greens , my memory goes back to my youth when my mother was always on at me to eat your greens , which were your peas, cabbage, lettuce ,beans etc. I looked on such as the green eyed monster, maybe not too far off the mark. JS
