After the War we had the 3 ensigns from Dad's ship to play with. All 3 made excellent tents. (Rescue Ship GOODWIN ) 1.Red Duster; 2. RFA (Royal Fleet Auxiliary) which was the Blue ensign defaced by a gold Anchor. 3 Rescue Ship flag green with a white diagonal. Supposed to be hoisted during a rescue - who had the time? Who would see it as the rest of the Convoy sailed on? Most rescues took place at night.
The only survivor is the Red Duster and it's certainly showing its age. You can see through it !
